Michael McDonald | If That’s What It Takes

Original Vinyl / Curated Selection: Analog vibes

Released in 1982, If That’s What It Takes is Michael McDonald’s solo debut, and it doesn’t miss. Steeped in West Coast soul, yacht rock smoothness, and that unmistakable voice, it’s a record that feels like golden-hour heartbreak. “I Keep Forgettin’” hits with groove and grit, while deeper cuts like “Love Lies” and “Losin’ End” shimmer with layered precision.

Part of our curated vintage vinyl collection, this original pressing delivers that warm, analog polish only early-’80s studio craft could achieve. The sleeve has soft-worn charm. The wax plays clean, rich, and deeply human.
